When It Is Time to Sell a Forklift

Forklifts work hard, and eventually the numbers stop making sense. Maybe the mast is leaking, the engine will not start, the battery no longer holds a charge, or you have replaced it with a newer model and the old one is parked in a corner. Some businesses have two or three old forklifts sitting at the back of the building.

Rather than paying for space or arranging a special haul, sell it to a buyer who handles heavy equipment every week. Richmond is full of warehouses and distribution sites, and forklifts are some of the most common machines we collect.

How Forklift Pickup Works

  1. Send the Details

Call 236 240 2138 or use the form with the details and photos above.

  2. Get Clear Terms

We review the forklift and tell you before booking whether it is a cash offer, a no cost pickup or a removal charge. Most forklifts get a cash offer, and towing is free on most pickups.

  3. Book a Time

Same day or next day, depending on your schedule, any time between 8 am and 11 pm. Early or late pickups help avoid busy hours in the warehouse.

  4. Load and Get Paid

Our crew loads the forklift with our own trucks and equipment. You sign the paperwork, and we pay by cash or e-Transfer before we leave.

Ownership and Paperwork

We buy forklifts with clear ownership only.

  • The seller must own the forklift or be authorised to sell it for the business.
  • There must be no loan, lease or lien owing.
  • Have photo ID and any proof of ownership, such as the original invoice or bill of sale.

Leased forklifts belong to the leasing company, so they are not ours to buy until the lease is paid out. See our BC paperwork guide for the equipment section.

More Than Forklifts

Forklift Removal FAQ

Do you buy forklifts that do not run?

Yes. A forklift that will not start, drive or lift still has value in its metal, counterweight and parts. Brighouse Commercial picks up non running forklifts with our own trucks and equipment. Let us know it does not run when you send the details so we plan the right loading setup.

How much is my old forklift worth?

It depends on the make, model, lift capacity, hours, condition, what is still on it and current metal prices. Send the details from the data plate and a few photos, and we will give you a clear offer before booking.

Is forklift removal free?

Most forklifts get a cash offer, and towing is free on most pickups. In rare cases, such as a forklift with very little value in a very hard to reach spot, there may be a removal charge. We always tell you before booking.

Can you pick up a forklift from inside a warehouse?

Yes. Tell us where it is parked, the door size, whether there is a loading dock and the building hours. We plan the pickup so it fits around your work.

Can you take more than one forklift at a time?

Yes. Send details and photos for each one, and we will give you a combined offer and collect them in as few visits as possible.

Do you buy leased forklifts?

No. A leased forklift belongs to the leasing company. Once the lease is paid out and the forklift is yours with no lien owing, we are happy to make you an offer.
